I am now a simple Grandpa who's life is made richer as each grandchild is born. My wife and I have raised five children and the 30 year love labor of raising them has begun to yield sweet fruit..... And then there are fruits of 30 years in ministry ... I am a satisfied old man full of the joy of the Lord.

Bottom line ? Go to Montana, Wyoming, Utah, or Idaho.

2nd choice? Iowa, Missouri, or Oklahoma

Will Public Funding Of Minnesota Abortions End?

The Minnesota House of Representatives has easily passed a new bill banning the public funding of abortion in Minnesota. We now wait on the (liberal) Senate to take up a similar bill.

In 1995 an Minnesota Supreme Court required public funding of abortion. This was judicial activism at its highest. To take the public money and give it to those who want abortions is not just bad law, it is tyranny. You cannot require me to pay for someone else to murder a baby.

Now, 11 years later, there are seven new justices on the court and if a challenge came there is a chance that the 1995 ruling would be reversed. But the Senate is where this bill will probably die. It is still firmly in the hands of the pro abortion forces.

On a side note, the bill passed by the house also has a provision for tracking the judges in Minnesota that allow underage girls to have abortions without notifying their parents. This information would be valuable at election time. It also would require abortion doctors to have admitting privileges in a hospital within 20 miles of the place where the abortion occurs. (This would eliminate most rural abortions)

Black Genocide In America

Between 1882 and 1968, 3446 blacks were lynched in the U.S. Today, black people abort more black lives than this in less than three days. Wake up and smell the coffee. You are being sold a bill of goods. Be proud of the lives you create.

Since 1973 when the nation legalized abortion there have been over 13 million black lives aborted. Compare this with 2,266,789 black deaths from heart disease and 1,638,350 black deaths from cancer in the same period of time. Then ask yourself. What is the main cause of death in black people ?

The patron saint of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industries, Margaret Sanger, had as one of her goals, to erase through "birth control" (listen to those words) the "bad stock" (her words) in the human race. From the start she targeted black communities.

Here is a direct quote from Sanger. Listen carefully. See if it has any sinister overtones to it.
"Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated." Her first birth control clinic was in Harlem. Hmmm?

Today blacks make up 12% of the U.S. population, but receive 31.7% of the abortions. Almost three times the average. "Blacks are the only minority in America that are on the decline in population." Wise up. Free contraception and free abortions are not out to help you.

One Fourth Of This Generation Of Americans Murdered

Hello everyone, I just wanted to remind you all of this telling reality so you don't forget it before you go to bed tonight. One fourth of this generation has been legally murdered through abortion. Choose life.

Comatose Bombing Victim Opens Eyes When Rabbi Places Scripture On Him

In today's "coincidence" in medical science, a young boy who lost his spleen, kidney, and leg in a bombing in Israel, recovered from his coma and opened his eyes exactly at the same time that a Rabbi applied teffillin or Jewish prayer phylacteries to his body.

Daniel Wultz, 16, was injured in last Monday's bombing of a falafel restaurant in Jerusalem. The blast injured 60 people. Wultz was there on a Passover vacation with his family. Wultz had been lying in a coma since the bombing. He showed little sign of reflex or movement.

Today the Rabbi again applied the scriptures, and just like the day before, Daniel opened his eyes.

Tefillin are leather objects with black straps that have scripture verses in them that Jewish men wear on their foreheads and on one arm while praying in the mornings. This in direct obedience to a passage in Deuteronomy that says,
"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. ... Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a frontlet between your eyes."

Southern Baptist Baptism Dies As The Vision Dissipates

Over and over, denominations that started as a vibrant moving force of the word of God at work in man, have slowly gone to sleep and died down into empty forms supported by endowments. It is just hard to imagine that the Southern Baptists are going in this direction. They are one of the few large denominations that still preach the full word of God.

Yet the Christian Post is saying that the denomination is in decline in baptisms.

If you have to tell the congregations to "go" and evangelize, then the battle is usually over. A denomination that has lost its "spark" is a sad dinosaur indeed. There may be plenty of talent, intelligence, and assets, but there is little heart left because one needs a reason to go out into the world and confront the status quo with the offence of the gospel of the cross, when you can stay safe at home and watch the Discovery channel.

A healthy church, with a full vision of what it is in this world for, naturally does evangelism, because it believes it has words of life and liberty. It wants to do for others like it was done for them. That is why the new members always make the best evangelists. But then it seems "another reality" begins to make its inroads. One of, "God is good, but.... " "God is good but I tried that and it didn't help me." "God is good but he works in mysterious ways. "

There are always elaborate intellectual and theological reasons for the lack of faith. But it is still simply a simple lack of faith and immediate relationship with God. It as if the relationship with God is replaced with a relationship with the "Church." "Come to the church and get saved." " Come to this church, its got perks. "

I pray that the Southern Baptists can revitalize their vision and faith. We need them to be healthy and full of faith. There is a war ahead.

Bush Popularity = Price Of Gasoline

The popularity polls of president Bush directly parallel the price of gasoline. When the price of gas goes up in the US, the popularity of Bush goes down. When the price of gas goes down, the popularity of Bush goes up.

Hmm? Just exactly how shallow and clueless are American consumers? Is it really just about money and self ? It looks like moral goals and purposes are trumped by self intrests.

Oh my !

Should We Trust God Or Al Gore?

Here is a link to a propaganda film trailer designed to launch Al Gore back into contention for the presidency. Personally, I think he could pull it off if he ran today. Just because the liberals would like to teach us conservatives a lesson.

This film is stunning. Disaster looms. Only Al Gore's leadership can save us. If the full film is as exciting as the trailer, you can bet it will have an impact. I can't help but wonder how many elephant sized talking heads got together to put this thing into production.

I think this is the future of world politics. Natural disasters grow in frequency and the left wing, along with the moderate and liberal republicans, begin to attack the religious right for causing the problems (by not joining them in their fear and rhetoric.) Thus, the religious right get marginalized and become the new scapegoat of the new order of the new millennium.

Coal To Diesel Breakthrough

Scientists have found a way to convert coal to diesel fuel. This is good news because we have an abundance of coal in the USA. We have 40 times the amount of oil reserves in our coal reserves.

The process is the result of the use of certain catalytic processes that change the molecular weight of the hydrocarbons. The process removes hydrogen molecules and moves them around in the mix. A range of new molecules are produced. Some useful, some not so useful.

Up until now, the not so useful by products caused storage and disposal problems. But the breakthrough lies in the fact that even these medium weight by products can be molecularly rearranged again and made useful.

Who knows ? Maybe the world wide quiet war for oil will soon be over.

More Bad Song Lyrics

Here's a line from a song by Norman Greenbaum that was sung over and over for years without understanding....
"Never been a sinner I never sinned
I got a friend in Jesus
So you know that when I die
He's gonna set me up with
The spirit in the sky "
Let's see, what does the bible say? "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Let's keep trying to remember and discover more of these. Thanks.

Boycott National Geographic

After watching as much as I could stomach of the particularly perverse and wicked portrayal of the Gnostic "Gospel of Judas" program, produced by our membership fees to National Geographic Magazine, I found myself deeply disgusted.

First the DaVinci code, then this thinly disguised attempt to destroy faith in the true history of Christianity, under the guise of intellectual respectability. (Gospel of Judas) But wait, that's not all, now we have the "Jesus Papers" being promoted this week on CNN, MSNBC, and the Fox News network.

This book will claim that Jesus did not die and the resurrection was made up. Based upon manuscripts that have never even been a part of any legitimate scholarly study. They are secret papers. Come on, give me a break !

There is a full blown attempt in the media, during this Easter season, to confuse, deceive, and destroy the faith of many simple believers in Jesus. This is beyond mean spirited, it is sinister.

Whatever happened to the journalistic ideal of, "if it bleeds, it leads?" This wanton stomping of the beliefs of millions is over the top. It demands a reply, not to the "facts" but to the producers of these intellectually dishonest scandal programs. I think we should all stop supporting National Geographic, or any of these books, in any way.

Thanks for listening.

Student Flight From Public Colleges And Universities

It seems that middle Americans are forsaking public higher education and bringing their mass exodus into schools that are Christian Colleges and Universities.

Since 1990 there has only been a 12.8% rise in Public enrollments as compared to a 70.6% rise in Christian enrollments. People are getting fed up with the lies, propaganda, insincerity, and manipulation of the public establishments of higher education. They are hoping for a more balanced education in the Christian colleges and universities.

I am not sure I believe that middle America will get what they are looking for. I think that most "Christian" colleges and universities are deeply and severely compromised. They must learn that they cannot serve both God and the world. They will end up choosing one and hating the other.

Will the "Center" hold? There are encouraging signs. But we still do not know.

Southern Baptists Tell Missionaries, "No Tongues"

On Nov. 15th the trustees of the Southern Baptist Convention voted to bar all new missionary candidates who practice a "private prayer language." They are forced to choose between a missions commission and their private conscience. Where are the anti-legalists when we need them? Sounds a lot like shepherding.

The guidelines are not "retroactive." This leaves some missionaries in place that actively encourage glossolalia.

Mind you, there are no problems from the mission field. That is not the reason for this ruling. It is entirely church politics. 27% of the world's Christians are Pentecostal, charismatic, or neo-charismatic according to the World Christian Database. And this has happened in the last 100 years. The Pentecostal movement is celebrating it's 100 anniversary this year. There are still a few "post-Asuza street fathers" living. Their contribution to this world wide awakening cannot be under estimated.

The November meeting also voted to only accept those missionary candidates baptized in churches that teach "believer security" (a tenet of Calvinism) and baptismal immersion.

While I support baptismal immersion, I am not dogmatic about it. If your infant baptism works for you, then walk in your faith. I do also believe a convert cannot be separated or tricked into reprobation. But I do know some reprobates who did not consider the fear of the Lord, holiness, and personal responsibility and thus found themselves unable to repent and return to God. Some seem or appear to have died never finding a place of repentance.

Just tellin' like it is. God is good. Amen?

Molecular Cloud Barnard 68

Nobody knows where these clouds of molecular dust come from but we have at least discovered that they are there. These are areas where stars are still being formed. This one happens to be pretty close to earth (in astronomical terms). We know this because you do not see any stars in the foreground.

You can see through this cloud in infrared and thus see the stars "hidden" by the cloud. Pretty amazing stuff huh?

Celtic Women And Cheesy Songs

My daughter and son-in-law bought tickets for my wife and I to go to the Celtic Women concert performance that was in town tonight. It was excellent. It is amazing how powerful the arts are at reaching into the heart of the people and touching even the hardest of souls.

I would have only one small complaint. Too many "We Are the World" type songs. If I remember right there were about 3 of this sort. And that is not counting the "You Lift Me Up" song. (I happen to like that one.) Utopia is not a subject that I am very fond of. As PT Barnum said, " A sucker is born every minute."

But while I am on the subject, let me just comment that these "We Are the World" type songs often have pseudo-Christian lyrics. And they are often, quite off the mark.

Have you ever looked up the words to "We Are the World? Two lines stand out to me. One is sung by Willie Nelson and it says "As god has shown us, by turning stones into bread." Let me ask you, where in the bible did god ever do that? Didn't satan tempt Jesus and tell him to do that? And Jesus refused. He said, "Man does not live by bread alone. But by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Another line in that song says, "There's a choice were making, were saving our own lives." I think Waylon Jennings walked out and refused to sing this. The original lyric of that was "there's a choice were making, were taking our own lives" And he wouldn't come back and sing it even after it was changed. Taking = suicide and saving = heresy.

I think there are many more lines of bad theology out there hidden in the middle of many popular songs. They sound like good words like "love each other" but they are full of deception. Maybe you could comment with some that you have found particularly distasteful ?

Good News Keeps Gettin' Gooder

Barna just came out with a new report on the increase in core religious values in the USA
Core religious values are up significantly over the last 10 years.

Reportedly, five out of the seven core spiritual activities showed an increase. Bible reading among adults rose to its highest level at 47 percent, that after not showing any increase in several years. Church attendance rose from its 1996 level of 37 percent during a typical week, to 47 percent. And Sunday school attendance went up to 24 percent from only 17 percent ten years ago.

Small group particapation is up to one out of four and volunteerism is up 27%.

But two main values have not increased. Prayer is at the same level it has been at since 1993 and evangelism is at its same place. Only six out of ten born again Christians have wittnessed to anyone in the last year.

Bush Blamed For Demise Of Erotic Films

President Bush and "U.S. political conservatives" are being blamed for the low profitability of the erotic film industry. The guy who gave us "Basic Instinct" senses it is the fault of Bush. Yes, this is the same Bush who has porn stars attending his social functions. Yes, these are the same political conservatives that wear party hats and hire strippers at conventions. How can such an injustice happen in America?

Well, Paul Verhoeven, creator of "erotic movies" America just is fed up with and sick-up-to- here with your trash. America is scrambling for moral sanity. America is returning to church, (although I am not sure they will find biblical morality there) America is a moral country. Its decline in the eyes of the world is because of its decline in morality. When it truly ceases to be moral, it will be finished on the world scene. Maybe the sexual revolution is over in America and we are returning to the center?

Church Goers Live Longer

This is an interesting report.

Of all the things you can do to add years to your life, the best thing is to go to church.
Add this to the reality that married people live longer and that adds up to a new insurance low risk pool. Where's our discount ?

A new study finds people who attend religious services weekly live longer. Specifically, the research looked at how many years are added to life expectancy based on:

  • Regular physical exercise: 3.0-to-5.1 years
  • Proven therapeutic regimens: 2.1-to-3.7 years
  • Regular religious attendance: 1.8-to-3.1 years

You can read more about it here.

01:02:03 04/05/06

Thanks to my daughter-in-law for this one.
On Wednesday of next week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:oo AM
The time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06
This won't ever happen again. They won't cancel taxes or anything. Still, it's kinda cool.
