I am now a simple Grandpa who's life is made richer as each grandchild is born. My wife and I have raised five children and the 30 year love labor of raising them has begun to yield sweet fruit..... And then there are fruits of 30 years in ministry ... I am a satisfied old man full of the joy of the Lord.

Boycott National Geographic

After watching as much as I could stomach of the particularly perverse and wicked portrayal of the Gnostic "Gospel of Judas" program, produced by our membership fees to National Geographic Magazine, I found myself deeply disgusted.

First the DaVinci code, then this thinly disguised attempt to destroy faith in the true history of Christianity, under the guise of intellectual respectability. (Gospel of Judas) But wait, that's not all, now we have the "Jesus Papers" being promoted this week on CNN, MSNBC, and the Fox News network.

This book will claim that Jesus did not die and the resurrection was made up. Based upon manuscripts that have never even been a part of any legitimate scholarly study. They are secret papers. Come on, give me a break !

There is a full blown attempt in the media, during this Easter season, to confuse, deceive, and destroy the faith of many simple believers in Jesus. This is beyond mean spirited, it is sinister.

Whatever happened to the journalistic ideal of, "if it bleeds, it leads?" This wanton stomping of the beliefs of millions is over the top. It demands a reply, not to the "facts" but to the producers of these intellectually dishonest scandal programs. I think we should all stop supporting National Geographic, or any of these books, in any way.

Thanks for listening.

Strange that there should be so much sensationalism over the Gospel of Judas. It's not like that book is anything new to Christianity. Eusebius in his Ecclesiastical History condemns it as Gnostic garbage. It seems to go along with the way Judas is presented in the Last Temptation of Christ--as a close counselor to Jesus who turns Christ over at his request. It's just bizarre.

7 star,
I am removing your post. I don't think I want people to use the blog to advertize their own self fulfilling aganda.

You are deceived. BTW, Revelation is not written in Hebrew... Tighten it up. If you want to be the angel of light you will have to run a much tighter ship.
