I am now a simple Grandpa who's life is made richer as each grandchild is born. My wife and I have raised five children and the 30 year love labor of raising them has begun to yield sweet fruit..... And then there are fruits of 30 years in ministry ... I am a satisfied old man full of the joy of the Lord.

Dead Baby In Bio-Hazard Bag Closes Fla. Abortion Chamber

A mother went in for a "routine" abortion. She was supposedly aborted and sent home. The next day she shows back up with extreme pain. She gave birth to a live 22 week old baby. The staff cut the cord, picked the baby up, and sealed it in a bio-hazard bag to suffocate his innocent life.

Now the abortion chamber is closed. Good.

10 Million Year Old Bone Marrow ?

Scientists have extracted soft tissue from the remains of fossilized frogs and salamander in Spain. They think the stuff is 10 million year old. Hmmmm?

In June of 2005 scientists claimed to have extracted red blood cells from a Tyrannosaurus rex leg bone.

How can soft tissue be fossilized? It is soft tissue. They explain it as a "microenvironment that prevented bacteria from seeping in and rotting tissues" Huh?

I have a real problem with this. Bad presuppositions lead to bad conclusions.

Vast Majority Of Muslims Do Not Believe Arabs Carried Out 9/11 Attacks !

According to a Pew report the vast majority of Muslims from all parts of the world simply don't believe that Arabs were the cause of 9/11. They think it is something that America did in order to steal Arab oil.

No wonder we are not able to communicate on this issue.

I think the only reason that they do not believe that 9/11 was caused by Arabs is because they are Muslim. No Muslim could do something as horrible as that. The blindness of bigotry.

A True Bedtime Story

Hello Kiddies,
I know that you spend a lot of time watching MTV so I thought I would share a little history with you FYI. I am sure you missed this in school, the news media is not telling you, and you probably don't read anything more difficult than comic books. (OK, so I am cynical from time to time. That doesn't mean that what I just said is not true)

This is a story of a little country that was formed in 1948. It is the abbreviated version. The people were tired of being made into lampshades and having the gold stolen out of their teeth by bad folks so they started a country. Its name is Israel. They have neighbors who don't like them. So the neighbors try to kill them whenever they can. This bothers the people of Israel because they still don't like to be killed.

So they have a good army. And their army heard about how the bad guys in Lebanon had filled their basements and caves with enough guns and ammunition to give every adult male in the land 10 automatic weapons, thousands of rounds of ammo, hand grenades, and rockets. Being wise, they went into Lebanon and took all the weapons away and stayed so that they could not come back and fill the basements and caves with weapons once again.

The people of Southern Lebanon were mostly Christians now because most of the bad guys left when they couldn't fill basements with weapons anymore. So the Christians formed their own army. This army along with the army of Israel made the basements into family rooms and the people who lived in the land where they were, began to live happy and good lives again. They even took jobs in Israel because they all got along now. There was no longer any need for fences or gates or borders between the two countries. The 700 club even bought some of this land and put up a TV tower and broadcast some good programs.

18 years later, because other countries were complaining, the people from Israel left Lebanon and went home. Soon the Christian army was not strong enough on their own to stop the bad people from filling up their basements with weapons again. The border had to have fences and gates again and the people from Lebanon could not work in Israel anymore. And the 700 club lost their TV tower. Maybe the bad guys even filled up the basement of that 700 club building with weapons. We might find out soon.

Now Israel thinks it might have not been a good idea to leave Lebanon in the first place. They only left because people were saying that they were trying to steal the land. Now Israel has to go back in there and empty the basements of weapons. Now people are yelling at them again for being in Lebanon and are afraid that they are going to steal it. So the Israel people are just staying in their country and blowing up these houses full of weapons using tanks and big guns and airplanes. Now the people from Israel can't even live in their own houses because the bad guys have lots of rockets and are still trying to kill them. It will take a long time to blow up all the basements full of weapons and rockets so that the rockets will stop coming.

One day Jesus will return and He will empty all the houses in the whole world of all weapons and use them to make plows to plow with and grow stuff.

Ain't that better than MTV?

ACLU To Be Defunded?

No one organization is more damaging to cultural Christianity than the ACLU. And they do it with your tax dollars. They are funded, in part, by the US government. And if they win a case against a city, state, etc. they charge the taxpayers for their services through the lawsuit.

In other words, we pay the ACLU to attack our sacred institutions and remove them one by one.
Something about that just does not seem right. Right?

So a bill has been introduced to both houses of Congress to remedy the situation. Sam Brownback of Kansas is the chief sponsor of the bill.

You can read more about it here.

Beaver Creek Valley State Park

My posting is lacking lately. It is summer and there are just too many activities. This last weekend my family (10 adults 1 really cute and pleasant grandchild and 2 more "in the oven")
went on the first of our annual, twice-a-summer season campouts. We went to a little known Beaver Creek Valley State Park. It is near La Crosse and in the SE corner of the state.

The features of this park are non-spectacular. The main one is its low use. The second one is a pristine trout stream. The third is the cool fact that there are almost no mosquito's due to the steep hills and valleys, moving water and cool temperatures. We were there at the hottest part of the summer, when the temps were near 100 only a few miles away. In this valley the temps were more like 85 and each night the valley cooled off enough that you crawled deeper into your sleeping bags.

Another outstanding feature is the amazing variety of birds. Some you will not see anywhere else in the state. This is also due to the trout stream and foliage. Our campsite was one of the group camp sites and it is cart in only. The birds were undisturbed and everywhere. I have included a few pictures of some of the birds we saw. Left to right they are 1. American Redstart 2. Acadian flycatcher 3. Evening Grosbeak

Life has many small pleasures if you know where to look.

Christian Legal Society Rights Restored At SIU

Christian Legal Society, a student organization on many campuses around the US, was kicked off of campus at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. No clear charges were given but just some accusations of intolerance. But a sane judge finally restored their status.

This sort of thing began around 3 years ago. Accusations against Christian campus organizations were being leveled by activist pro-homosexual individuals that feigned abuse because they would not be allowed membership or leadership positions unless they quit practicing unbiblical sex. The Universities would immediately react and throw the Christian organization off of the campus without a real legal basis. The Christian organization then would loose months of time on campus and suffer a decline in their momentum as they had to go to court to restore their rights.

It is because of this potential problem that we sued the U of MN a few years back. They never even took it to court. They rewrote the handbook to accommodate the Christian viewpoint.
I guess SIU has a sleeping legal department.

New Non-Addictive Pain Killer 1,000 Times Stronger Than Morphine

An extract from a sea snail has been developed into a super powerful pain reliever. It has been approved for use in the UK. It is administered into the spinal fluids of an individual and erases all pain.

Only one small problem. It can make you psychotic. I guess your choice would be pain or no pain (with psychosis.) (Not all people suffer psychosis when using this drug) There are many levels of pain and the measurement of it is usually subjective. But there is a severe form of pain that is so bad that sufferers desire death over life.

Thank the Lord that you are not one of these chronic pain sufferers and let's rejoice that there is release from that pain available now. Even if it has a high cost of psychosis, at least relief is available. I have suffered with intense pain since I was 12 years old. I know what it is to suffer from pain with no relief. My pain is not severe enough to warrant this treatment but I have great empathy for those who will be blessed by this development.

Statue Of Liberation

A church in Memphis (Hickory Hill) has installed a new huge (72ft.) statue. It looks just like the Statue of Liberty but it is holding a cross instead of a torch. They call it the statue of liberation. Many people are offended. Others really like it.

It cost $260,000 and stands outside of a new mega-church (12,000 members) called World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church. Besides the cross substituting for the torch, there is a tear dripping down from the eye of this statue, and instead of "give me your tired, poor, etc" there are Roman numerals for the 10 commandments.

Oh well, it could be worse. It could be a big statue of Buddha.

Toxic Metal Microbes Form Electrical Community

Yes, I know. This is an obscure item. But very interesting to me none the less.

They use bacteria to transform toxic metals into non-toxic forms as part of an attempt at enviromental clean-up. These bacteria do this, in part, by forming "nano-wires" that connect to other bacteria to form a network of interconnected microbes. This network is busy "dumping" excess electrons that they accumulate in the process of transforming the toxic metals into more benign forms.

This ends up being a community of microbe houses connected by nano-wires. A hard wired "village" of microbes busy in the task of stripping bad metals of their excess electrons. Can anyone say "far out?"

Beautiful Movie Of Saturn

I just watched a cool movie of the rings, moon (Rhea), and planet of Saturn. It is a quicktime file and should download pretty seamlessly on your computer if you would like to see it. It is quite striking if you ask me. Amazing !
Note the shadow of the rings on the surface of the planet.

You can watch the movie here.

Penny Lane And Escapism

I got a haircut today (oh boy !) And as usual I thought about the lyrics to the old Beatle's song named Penny Lane. I often think and speak in terms of lyrics from old songs that beat around in my head. Especially if I am relaxed and simply enjoying the day. Sometimes the lyrics are Christian and sometimes they are secular depending on the situation. But barber shops usually remind me of these lines...

In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he's had the pleasure to know
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say hello

On the corner is a banker with a motorcar
The little children laugh at him behind his back
And the banker never wears a mack
In the pouring rain, very strange

Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back

In Penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass
And in his pocket is a portrait of the queen
He likes to keep his fire engine clean
It's a clean machine

Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes
A four of fish and finger pies
In summer, meanwhile back

Behind the shelter in the middle of a roundabout
The pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And though she feels as if she's in a play
She is anyway

In Penny Lane the barber shaves another customer
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim
And then the fireman rushes in
From the pouring rain, very strange

Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There beneath the blue suburban skies
Penny Lane (Beatles)
I wonder how many people realize that the Beatles were speaking about a street in Liverpool that was named after the owner of a 18th century slave trade shipping magnate, James Penny? It was a hub of the slave trade in England. From there slaves were often shipped to America. The Beatles were showing how life goes on after the most horrendous atrocities in history. People oblivious to the carnage that went on just a few short years before the moment they live in.

That led me to think about the 41 million babies that have been slaughtered in the 40 years since Roe v. Wade. Operation rescue recently bought the building out from under one of the most aggressive killing operations in the USA ending the carnage at that location. Five years from now, who will remember?

UN Wants Own Army

The inept, scandal ridden, corrupt, and financially mismanaged UN wants its own army. Oh, they are going to call it a "rapid response peace-keeping force", not an army. They want to be able to respond anywhere in the world in 48 hours.

They have taken decades to even acknowledge some conflicts in the world, now they want a 48 hour response team? And tax funds to pay for it also I suppose? And it will be under the direct command of the UN. Not the country from which the troops come.

You know something? I really don't trust these guys too much. They need to rise above third world status in morals and corruption before I will give them anything.

More here.
