I am now a simple Grandpa who's life is made richer as each grandchild is born. My wife and I have raised five children and the 30 year love labor of raising them has begun to yield sweet fruit..... And then there are fruits of 30 years in ministry ... I am a satisfied old man full of the joy of the Lord.

U of MN Sees 44% Increase Of Mental Illness In Last 5 Years

The U of MN Twin Cities Campus has seen a 44% increase in students seeking help for depression and mental Illnesses over the last five years.

Last year, almost 2,200 students visited the mental health clinic in the Twin Cities. Most are coming for depression.

I think this is the result of a lack of fathering in our culture. In a feminist world, a fathers counsel is not esteemed, but a fathers love teaches his children survival skills and the ability to cope with life stresses. A mothers love teaches other valuable stuff but both types of love are needed.

The breakdown of the family has its effect on all of society. Yet the family seems to be under attack on all sides. Support of the family is vital to our society. Traditional values are more than just a good idea.

Ecclesiastes 1:18 (KJV)

18For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

Sounds like an attack of the "Ecclesiastes Syndrome". How depressing is it to chase after the wisdom, wealth, and pleasures of this world when in the end its all gonna burn anyway. I suppose there was a time in history when Universities existed to further the wisdom of the world that is to come, not to store up the rot of this one. No wonder depression is on the rise!
