I hung on every word. One of THE MOST amazing things I have ever seen. So precious some will not get it.
Wow. JUST WOW!
(I'm going to link to this, and I'm also going to add you to my blogroll.)
The narration on the video mentions "self-taught." I disagree. This gifted girl is God-taught!
Ok, so the *only* thing I was wondering about when I saw this was: "Jesus is white?". I wonder what kind of influence she had for those particular paintings... of HIM. Doesn't have to be a big deal. Just sharing my wonderings.
Don't you think she might be viewing Heaven and Christ through her own prism of experience? She is only a child!
Besides, that pic didn't look exclusively white to me...
Hm. I hope that last comment didn't sound snotty. I didn't intend it to; I was just thinking and typing at once! :)
No boogers on me, thanks, no problem.
I thought he looked like a tan White guy. Not very Middle Eastern. And quite traditionally Western. And quite handsome. None of which I understand him to have been in the natural. (I'd be willing to shelve the handsomeness aspect.) Looking at it again, he is *very* White. Maybe a little Slavic than all Western.... and that might be more her heritage even. Is the nose stereotypically "Jewish"? Maybe. I'm not sure. He has two nostrils.
...And no boogers.
So, she says she's been to Heaven. So as you say, I wonder exactly that: how much is it her through her prism. Was she really taken to the third sky (Heaven) or is it her vision... simply yet acceptably?
Maybe Slavic is wrong. Maybe it's Arab. One must be so careful these days. Arabs can be extremely fair in skin. Jesus, an Arab? I don't think so. The sprucegoose would know how the lineage works out better. How mixed *were* the Jews with the surrounding peoples (Arabs)? I thought mostly not. Michael Medved's comment on "The Nativity Story" was that the cast was too international; that the people in that region would have all looked the same. How micro that scope is, I don't know. Although fun, this is a wild goose chase. A goose with boogers.
Is it okay for a girl to think she saw an image of Jesus that isn't physically accurate (*assuming* indeed that it isn't accurate)? I can't say that it isn't.
