I am now a simple Grandpa who's life is made richer as each grandchild is born. My wife and I have raised five children and the 30 year love labor of raising them has begun to yield sweet fruit..... And then there are fruits of 30 years in ministry ... I am a satisfied old man full of the joy of the Lord.

Polar Bear And Grizzly Mating !

Polar bears and their near cousins, grizzly bears have begun to mate. Northern hunters are beginning to see polar bears with brown splashes of hair and strange features, like long claws and a humped back.

Global warming ? Or just coincidence? (Their breeding seasons overlap a little) More here.

Sure, why not. They both descend from a common bear kind. I strongly suspect that the polar bear isn't a part of the original creation. It's distinctive features are the result of degenerative mutations (i.e. albinism from a pigment gene defect and webbed feet from a fetal lysozyme defect). It's intriguing to me to wonder just how much stuff is out there in the creation that wasn't there in the beginning. Bacterial species are a big example; they mix, match, and swap genes. (And let's not forget plastic!)

Of course none of this is true macro-evolution; that would require the spontaneous increase of new information to the system. Everything we have to date is just shuffling or degrading information that's already there.

You can usually guess how the bad scientists will interpret the data. I wonder how the good scientists might shed some light on a phenomenon like this. But there's so much out there nowadays. I dunno. It's cool to hear every one.
Maybe it's just as simple as two categories branching off and crossing back again.
